96 Burglaries Linked to Ear Prints
In an interesting twist to 96 burglaries, police have found ear prints that link one man to crimes in Germany. A Macedonian man, aged 33 years old, left the ear prints after listening at victims doors to see if they were home or not. The man stole cash, jewellery, electronic equipment and other valuables after listening in to see if the coast was clear. The breakthrough came after the man was arrested in relation to a single break in which then led police to link him to 95 other crimes thanks to DNA, fingerprints and ear prints. The case has shown that ear prints carry the same weight of evidence as fingerprints due to their individual nature. The case is a timely warning for people to be aware of their home security systems as well as implementing simple ways to deter criminals. If the robber listened at the door and heard a radio, he may never have broken in.
