Man Faces Two Aggravated Robbery Charges

ACT police were to charge a man with two counts of aggravated robbery and theft following the search of a house in Gordon. Police said the 31-year-old man from Hawker was arrested following the search. “During the search a number of items were seized in relation to ongoing investigations involving aggravated robberies,” they said in a statement. ACT Police said they were committed to apprehending people who commit these types of violent crimes which often traumatise the victims and witnesses. Police were to oppose bail when the man faced court. There are many measures police recommend to reduce the chances of robbery to your home or business. These include installing glass doors and reinforced windows, ensuring doors and windows are locked and installing security lighting. Business should also limit the amount of money kept in cash drawers, have a monitored intruder alarm system installed and post warning signs about security measures in place.
