Melbourne Businesses Being Hit by Serial Robbers

A string of armed robberies have been reported across Melbourne and were carried out by three men using a variety of weapons between April 9 and May 2. The men have been described as wearing balaclavas and hoodies, escaping in an older model white vehicle, similar to a Nissan Pulsar. The weapons used were a gun, golf club, baseball bat and a knife. Six businesses have been targeted so far and convenience stores and service stations are the intended victims. Luckily, no one has been injured in the robberies with one clerk reporting that they had a baseball bat swung at them. The incident highlights the dangers for businesses and workers that operate late at night or are open 24 hours a day. The timing of the last robber on May 2 at 2.30 am shows that the men are taking advantage of quiet times to carry out the attacks. Vigilance should be maintained with proper alarm systems, security patrols and other safety measures implemented.
